Breathtaking dining experience in Athens
For a modern take on traditional Greek seafood head to Varoulko Seaside restaurant in Mikrolimano. Set on an oceanfront, it is the perfect place to enjoy some delicious fresh fish. We highly recommend ordering the Chef’s catch of the day and pairing with a light white wine. Perfect after a luxurious day on your chartered yacht.
Hytra Restaurant’s roots are embedded deep within the rich cultural heritage of Greek cuisine. Their modern take on traditional Greek flavors is truly magnificent. Everything on the menu is excellent which is why we recommend the Chef’s tasting menu with optional cocktail or wine pairing.
Both of these highly sought after gourmet restaurants have long waiting lists for reservations but with Arthaud Yachting’s private concierge service you will always have a table.
Athens best local dishes
While in Athens you’ll notice many fish ‘tavernas,’ the area is known for its mouth watering fresh fish dishes. Usually made with minimal ingredients the fish is the star of the dish. Add a squeeze of lemon and a dash of olive oil and pair with a dakos salad and a glass of white wine. The Varoulko Seaside restaurant is our favorite.
The traditional greek meze is a number of small plates similar to tapas. They often include homemade flatbreads, yogurt dip, olives, fried cheese, zucchini balls and small seafood bites such as steamed mussels or squid. It can be shared as a starter or had as a light snack. ‘To Kafeneio’ is known for their amazing meze dishes.
Baklava is a sweet Greek pastry that truly is a work of art. It consists of layers of ultra thin pastry with butter, chopped nuts and honey. Best served warm fresh out of the oven.

A night concert here is one of the best ways to experience the culture of Athens.
Take a wander through the Athens central market, Varvakeios Agora is on Athinas Street and has been active since 1886.
