Practical information to visit Naples
When to visit Naples by yacht
The best time to rent a luxury yacht in Naples is between March and June, there is less tourism and the weather is more comfortable at this time than in the humid months of July and August. While the heat and humidity of July and August can be great for visiting the nearby beaches, it can make it difficult to fully enjoy sightseeing in the city. Arthaud Yachting has a wide selection of yachts, sailing yachts and catamarans available to suit your needs.
The top cruising areas in Naples
Enjoy the scenic views of the Bay of Naples from your luxury yacht charter. With endless small islands and private coves, the bay truly is your oyster. Spend the morning enjoying some water sports, cruise over to Capri for a ‘ravioli caprese’ lunch and enjoy the sunset over an Aperol Spritz, before heading back to discover the local nightlife. Alternatively, a day trip to discover the island of Ischia is a great way to enjoy your yacht charter, after cruising around its many private coves, treat yourself to a dip in the thermal waters of Castiglione followed by a volcanic spa treatment. Luxury vacationing at its finest.
Do not miss when in Naples!
The infamous Mount Vesuvius, famously known for the destruction it caused to the city of Pompeii in 79 AD, now offers a hiking trail up to the top of the volcano. There are various hiking options ranging from easy to difficult. The easiest option takes between 20 and 30 minutes to complete and the reward is stunning views of the Bay of Naples from above.
Also known as the « Pearl of the Tyrrhenian », Ischia is an island in the Gulf of Naples that offers stunning beaches, therapeutic hot springs and a vibrant nightlife.
We recommend also visiting the ruins of the city of Pompeii. The astonishing story of an ancient civilizations catastrophe comes to life as you explore this incredible part of Roman history. It takes a minimum of 3-4 worthy hours to fully explore the city. After a day of discovery we highly recommend the chef’s tasting menu at Paolo Gramalgia’s Michelin Star restaurant, Ristorante President Pompei.
As to be expected from a Michelin Star restaurant, the pasta is exquisite.
Astonishing dining experience in Naples
Naples is home of the Pizza, it would almost be rude not to taste one. What better place to try this historic Italian food than the annually awarded Michelin star restaurant of L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele. This restaurant was featured in the book, “Eat, Pray Love” as the best pizza in all of Naples. With only two options on the menu, either the margherita or the marinara pizza, you can’t go wrong. The queue can be quite long but Arthaud Yachting’s private concierge service will organize for you to enjoy the best pizza in the world from the privacy of your luxury yacht whilst overlooking the Bay of Naples.
Antonio Mellino’s two star Michelin restaurant ‘Quattro Passi’ focuses on fresh seasonal ingredients from the area with many grown exclusively from the restaurant’s garden. Mellino’s mission is to give a culinary story to the traditions and flavors of the region. The recipes for his most celebrated dishes have been passed down for generations. For the full taste experience we recommend “The Best of Quattro Passi Tasting Menu.” Ask for a tour of their extensive volcanic stone wine cellar that preserves over 1500 vintages. Please request a reservation with our concierge service for guaranteed seating, with Arthaud Yachting there is always availability.
In addition to the Michelin-starred restaurant, Antonio Mellino also has a more casual eatery called ‘Otto e Mezzo Bombana’. This spot is great for Neapolitan-style pizzas and other Mediterranean fare. The restaurant is located in an old bomb shelter, which gives it a unique atmosphere. If you’re looking for a more relaxed dining experience, this is the place to go.

The World Famous Neapolitan Pizza. You have many places to taste these, generally the larger the crowd waiting outside the pizzeria, the better the pizza (Margherita is the most traditional).

Best beaches in Naples accessible from your yacht rental
Spiaggia Della Gaiola or Gaiola Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Naples. Now a protected national underwater park, the area includes submerged Roman ruins and a bubbling volcano crater that are best viewed by snorkeling through its crystal clear waters. It is also a great area to explore by kayak.
Ieranto Bay beach is situated a small cruise away from Naples in the Sorrento Peninsula. Due to its access difficulty by foot it is usually not crowded. This a great private cove to drop anchor and enjoy a day on your luxury yacht charter.

A day trip to discover the charming island of Procida. After spending some time exploring the quaint streets and beaches of the island we recommend visiting Ristorante Da Mariano to taste some locally made wines and some fantastic seafood overlooking the Marina.
