Snorkeling here is a must.
Equally picturesque is the view from Capri’s highest point, Monte Solaro. On a clear day, the island of Ischia and Procida can be seen in the distance, as well as Naples and Vesuvius.
For a longer cruise, cross over to the Amalfi Coast and explore the stunning coastline of small islands and beaches, before dropping anchor just off the delightful pebbled beachfront of the famous cliffside town, Positano.

The Piazzetta of Capri is the heart of the island. This enchanting town square is considered one of the most impressive and extravagant in the world. Capri’s striking mountain range overlooks the compact but refined, yellow buildings of the town square. This is the perfect place to get a feel for the island whilst enjoying a morning coffee, or an afternoon aperitif.
For breath-taking views of the island the best place is from the top. Mt. Solaro can be accessed by chairlift from the town of Anacapri. From the top you can see panoramic views of the island with the Amalfi Coast and Bay of Naples in the distance.
The ethereal ‘Grotta Azzurra’ is one of Italy’s most impressive attractions. This blue grotto is part of a natural illuminated cave system on the island. Its incredible fluorescent blue waters captivate visitors from around the globe. The Captain of your Capri yacht charter will advise you of the best time of day to visit, as to avoid the crowds.

Capri best local dishes
The flavors of the island are centered around fresh produce and seafood. Fresh salads including the world famous caprese salad are not to be missed. Enjoy as a light starter before pasta or as a side dish with some fresh fish.
The people of Capri take their seafood very seriously and you’ll see it on most menus, fresh fish and shellfish as well as seafood pastas such as the spaghetti alla vongole will not disappoint. We also recommend trying the island’s signature pasta dish, the ravioli caprese.
Lastly, a trip to Capri wouldn’t be complete without tasting some of their homemade limoncello that is created with natural organic lemons grown on the island.
The local culture of Capri
Roman emperor Tiberius Julius Caesar Augustus, built his palace on the island of Capri and stayed there for the majority of his rule of the Roman Empire. Built specifically for security amid fears of assassination, the palace can only be accessed by foot and is about a two kilometer uphill hike from the town of Capri. The ruins are a perfect example of the grandeur of 1st century Roman architecture.
Liquid Art System is a contemporary art gallery in Capri. The gallery takes a ‘glocal’ approach to its exhibitions, combining ‘global’ influence with ‘local’ context and culture. A great place to visit whilst exploring the town of Capri.
Axel Munthe was a physician to the Swedish Royal Family. He built his home on the island and with it, some of the most visited gardens in Italy. Villa San Michele was his masterpiece. With beautiful views of the bay and wonderfully built roman style walkways and impeccable gardens, you begin to feel like royalty as you immerse yourself in the surroundings.

Arthaud Yachting’s recommendation
Bring some comfortable footwear for exploring the island. We highly recommend taking an afternoon to visit the Gardens of Augustus and the Via Krupp, a fantastic walk up a windy pathway that leads to some beautiful gardens with amazing views of the sea and the Faraglioni rock formations from above. You will definitely want to bring your camera for this one.
